The Stroke Risk Assessment uses simple questions about your health, your family history, and your lifestyle to determine the chance or probability of you developing the disease. It doesn't mean you will. What it does mean is that current scientific research indicates that the health characteristics you exhibit today when answering these questions are shared by persons who develop a stroke.

Do you have a close relative (brother, sister, mother, father) who have had a stroke or heart attack?
If yes, did your close relative have a stroke or heart attack before age 65?

What is your predominate ethnicity?

Diet & Lifestyle
Do you eat 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables every day?
Do you smoke?
Are you overweight?
Do you or any of your close relatives have high blood pressure?
Do you or any of your close relatives have diabetes?
Do you or any of your close relatives have high cholesterol?
Is your waist circumference greater than 40" (male) or 35" (female)?
Do you exercise 2-3 times per week for at least 1 hour (i.e. vigorous walking, biking, hiking, aerobics)?
